Iris Pro purchase experience

My purchase of Iris Pro was pretty smooth. I opted for the Yearly Subscription for my Windows PC. The ordering process on the website was clear, and I received the download link and license key in my email almost instantly. Installation was easy, and the software immediately started doing its job. I especially like the 'Reading Mode' for late-night e-books; it really dims the screen effectively without making everything look weird. I haven't had any issues that required contacting support, so I can't speak to that. It definitely helps with eye fatigue, and I use dual monitors, both are adjusted perfectly. The difference between Iris and Iris mini seemed clear enough from their site, so I knew what I was getting.

Software good for eyes

Got the Iris Chrome Extension. It was super easy to get and install. My eyes feel better after using it for a while. Just works, which is nice.

Worth it for the price

I was looking for something to help with eye strain without breaking the bank, so I grabbed Iris Lite. The price was great, especially for a one-time purchase. It definitely felt like good value for money. I didn't need all the fancy features of Pro, and Lite does exactly what I needed. Happy with it.

Good software, slow support

I bought the Iris Pro Lifetime License a few weeks ago. The software itself is really good for reducing eye strain, especially during long work days. I've noticed a difference in how my eyes feel at the end of the day. Installation was straightforward. My only gripe was with customer service when I had a question about transferring my license to a new computer. It took about 3 days to get a response, which felt a bit long. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase for the long-term value, but support could be quicker.

i just bought iris and need to move it to my new computer. is it easy to transfer the license?

M Mark 2 months ago
Yeah, it's pretty straightforward. You just deactivate it on the old one and then activate it on the new machine. I did it last year when I upgraded.

You can transfer it, just log into your account on their website and manage your devices there to free up the license. Then install and activate on the new PC.

Anyone know if there's a student discount for Iris Pro? My eyes are killing me with all this studying.

C Carly V. 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure they do! Check their site, I remember seeing something about it. Might need a .edu email.

Yep, there's definitely a student discount. Just search for it on their FAQ or support page, you usually have to verify your student status.

How does Iris compare to f.lux? I've been using f.lux for ages but heard Iris might be better for flicker.

P Phil Reyes 2 months ago
Iris is way more advanced than f.lux, especially with the flicker control. f.lux just does color temp, but Iris can actually adjust brightness without the annoying PWM flicker.

I switched from f.lux to Iris Pro a few months ago and noticed a big difference in eye strain, especially late at night. The extra features are really good.

Does Iris Pro mess with colors too much for graphic design work? I need accurate colors for my job but also want less eye strain.

N Neil 2 months ago
They have a 'design mode' or something similar that tries to keep colors accurate. You can also turn off the blue light filter quickly when you need precise colors.

Thinking of getting Iris Pro, but I use both my laptop and desktop a lot. Can I install the same license on both or do I need two separate ones?

M Marcus L. 1 month ago
Yeah, I use my Pro license on both my work laptop and home desktop. It lets you activate on more than one device, I think up to 3.

Correct, one license covers multiple devices. Super convenient for switching between computers.

Is the Iris Pro lifetime license worth it? I saw some posts about it being on sale sometimes.

O Omar Hughes 1 month ago
Definitely worth it if you plan to use it long term. They usually have good discounts on the lifetime version during big sales like Black Friday or around the holidays.

I snagged mine during a New Year promo for like 25% off. Keep an eye out for those seasonal sales, they're pretty common for lifetime.

What's the difference between Iris Pro and Iris mini? I just want something simple to dim my screen and filter blue light.

O Omar 2 months ago
Iris mini is basically just the blue light filter and basic dimming. Pro has a ton more features like flicker control, break reminders, different modes for reading/programming, etc. If you just want basic stuff, mini is fine, but Pro is worth it for the extra eye protection.

Mini is the stripped-down version. Pro is where all the advanced stuff like PWM control and custom profiles live.
